The Arabian Celts GAA Club was founded in 2008. It is the amalgamation of two previous Clubs in the area, the Bahrain Irish & Naomh Abdullah Dhahran from the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. In the short time since it has been established the Arabian Celts Club has won an All Asia title in 2009 when the Club’s first Team travelled to Bangkok to play in the Asian Gaelic Games. Later that same year the Club’s second Team, the Arabian Legends won the Middle East Shield at the Middle East Gaelic Games. To cap off the year the Club won its first All Asia All Star when Captain Johnny McFadden was selected on the All Asia All Star Team for 2009. Another first for the Club saw Peter Finnegan elected on to the Asian County Board Executive committee, the first time a representative from the Middle East Region held such a position.
In 2010 the Club has gone from strength to strength with 3 Mens Teams competing at the Middle East Gaelic Games and the Ladies Team reaching the final of the Middle East Shield for the 1st time. The Club has also set up a Juvenile section in 2010 with an U10,U12 & U14 programme for both Boys & Girls. 2010 also saw the Middle East Gaelic Games been ratified as a Regional tournament under the Asian County Board for the 1st time and the Arabian Celts Club had the honour of hosting the 1st ACB Middle East Gaelic Games. The Club was also fundamental in setting up the Middle East Gaelic Football League and this was launched at the Gaelic Games held in Bahrain in November 2010.
